Sad to see it's no longer there. I grew up across the street in Victoria Park. We ate there forever as kids. Farewell

I grew up on this place use to walk down the street from my house at 7,8,9,10 years old with 5.00 and get an entire meal. even as an adult I stayed coming to this place. Even you I moved out of state and would fly back I would come. I still dream about this place so many memories. I wish they were still open just makes me so sad they are closed. I wish they would have passed it down to someone else or sold it to someone else at least the recipes so we could have that same taste and experience. I just miss this places with all my heart. those chilli cheese fries, chilli cheeseburger and my strawberry shake, lawd im about to go into depress mode lol. but thank you capital burger for awesome food, and a life time experience you guys will never begotten and may the father rest in haven.

Sad to hear this place closed its doors. Used to eat back in the 60's, early 70's with my friends. Burgers, chili fries, and pastrami sandwiches were delicious. The owner was an immigrant man who used to buy his fresh vegetables at a market down the street on Pico. Wanted to return to LA and pay this place one final visit in 2024 but alas, it was not meant to be. Lots of places we old heads would call 'memory lane' are no more.

I had been going to Capitol burgers for their pastrami for over 30 years! I have been searching for a pastrami sandwich similar to Capitol's since they closed. I finally found one very similar at Lucky Boys in Pasadena. For those of you who miss Capitol's pastrami, check it out. Very similar texture and taste. Now I need to find a place that has the same chili... Lol!

Capitol Burgers is an old school burger stand prepared great burger, pastrami, chili Dogs and the best chili cheese fries I have eaten in a long time prepare with their own house made chili. Finally you can taste the freshness in their food. Go to Capitol Burger and see for yourself why Capitol won a Food Network for their burger. I am sad to report Capitol Burgers has ceased operations.

DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! This place definitely doesn't deserve that. Its very divey and old fashioned for sure. The food was amazing. I got a double cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. I was a little surprise it didnt cost more but when i got the food, i was shocked at how big the burger was. The fries were a mix of shoestring and steak fries soaked in chili cheese. It was an absolute pleasure to consume and despite that it was 97 degrees. I was glad that they had bottle waters and sodas for sale at a cheap price. It is easy to miss if you dont see it. It might look closed but if you go at the right time, it wont be. I do wish they had longer hours but i get the situation whatever that might be. Im just glad that i checked that place off my bucket list and will for sure be back.

I love how the fries are freshly made and the amount they give for $1.75. The chili cheese fries is good but something in it kind of through me off. Not sure if it's cumin or turmeric? But it was ok to me. It's huge portion for $3.75. The burgers are not bad for the price $4.25 (double cheeseburger. It was juicy but the patty was thin like most burger joint. I saw on yelp how thin it was so I had to get a double to make it a single. Capitol Burger is located in the corner. You can't really miss an old style burger joint with 3 tables to sit on. They have old school elementary benches. Walk up order window with bars on them. It's not your 4/5 star burger joint so don't think you will get fancy or a really clean place. Dude behind the window bar is alright. Kind of like the attitude of Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller. He alright took my order, made it and called me to pick it up. I wasn't expecting a bubbly kind of guy at that joint. Parking is behind the joint and on the street.
